# Privacy Policy — Quick Note

This Privacy Policy explains how **Quick Note** (the "App") handles your

the App. Quick Note is designed to be private by default: your content stays on
your device.

## What we collect

**We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data.** Quick Note has no
user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no backend server.

- **Your notes, voice recordings, photos, attachments, reminders, and settings**
  are stored **only on your device** (in the app's local database and file
  storage). We cannot see them and they are never uploaded to us or any third
  party.

## How permissions are used

The App requests the following permissions, each used only for the feature named:

- **Microphone** — to record voice notes. Recordings are saved locally.
- **Speech Recognition (iOS)** — to transcribe your voice notes to text. On
  supported devices this runs **on-device**; audio is not sent to us.
- **Camera** — to take photos for photo notes. Photos are saved locally.
- **Photo Library** — to attach existing images to a note. Selected images are
  copied into the app's local storage only.
- **Notifications & exact alarms (Android)** — to deliver reminder
  notifications at the time you schedule.

## Network use

Quick Note works offline. The **only** time the App uses the internet is to
**download the on-device speech-recognition model the first time you transcribe
a voice note**. This downloads model files from the speech engine's distribution
host; it does **not** upload your recordings, notes, or any personal data.
Transcription itself runs on your device.

## Third-party services

The App does not include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. It uses
an open-source on-device speech-recognition engine (Whisper) and, on supported
iOS versions, Apple's on-device speech recognition. Neither transmits your audio
or notes to us.

## Data sharing and selling

We do **not** sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. Because your content
never leaves your device, there is nothing for us to share.

## Children's privacy

Quick Note is intended for a general and teenage audience. We do not knowingly
collect personal information from children, and the App does not collect personal
information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided personal information
through a misconfiguration, please contact us. <!-- TODO: confirm target age

## Your rights and choices

Because all data is stored locally:

- You can delete any note at any time (deleted notes stay in Trash for 30 days,
  then are permanently removed).
- **Uninstalling the App removes all of its local data from your device.**

## Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be
reflected by updating the "Effective date" above and posting the new version at
the policy URL below.
